The first threat to our teenagers is that they are targets of identity theft. Criminals can steal your teens identity just as easily as yours or mine. Actually they may even be a better target because they usually have a no credit giving the criminal a spotless record for to work with. They also generally do not use their social security numbers or credit until they are applying for their first job, student loan or a credit card. This means that the crime can go undetected for years, until they find out that they have been a victim of identity theft.
It is very important that you regularly monitor your child’s credit from the time you receive their social security number. This way you can protect their ID and keep them from becoming the next victim. Thus giving them a clean slate when it is time for them to start building their future.
The second threat is when they get their drivers licenses. There are several issues that can develop once they start driving. Suppose your teenager is coming home late one evening and because he or she has a really nice sporty car the police decide to pull them over for no reason. What if the officer decides that he would like to search their car even if they do not have grounds to do so. This happens more then we would like to think about. Would your teenager know what to do? Our teens are also at a higher risk for accidents and tickets for moving violations.
With one part of our membership your teens will be protected from profiling or harassment from law enforcement officers. They can also get help with moving violations to keep their insurance rates down after they receive the ticket. They will also have legal help available if they are involved in an accident, especially if there are serious injuries or a lawsuit.
